Grandmother is rescued by Jet ski-riding hero in Houston from her flooded living room

Volunteers are out in pressured helping to rescue the people of Houston and Southeast Texas because Hurricane Harvey left landfalll.

Many have been using ships to assist rescue people who were stranded by rising floodwaters, however, as a picture shared with Reddit shows, even those who have bigger watercraft are joining in the effort.  

In the wonderful image, a grandmother sits at her fully flooded entryway, waiting to be turned away to safety around the jet ski by a volunteer.

One Redditor commented on how this is the kind of inspirational photograph Houstonians necessary to raise their spirits from these dark and scary times, “There’s something so amazing about seeing communities and strangers coming together to assist one another.”
